Swiss Health & Nutrition launches zero waste packaging

St.Gallen - Swiss Health & Nutrition AG has presented a zero waste packaging concept. The packaging solutions for food and nutritional supplements under the ‘Be the Change’ brand are manufactured using renewable raw materials and can re-join the regenerative cycle.

Swiss Health & Nutrition AG, a St.Gallen-based start-up, has launched a zero waste packaging concept. According to a press release, the company’s own brand ‘Be the Change’ is a zero waste concept both in terms of food production and the packaging solutions, which are said to be completely recyclable or compostable. They are gently produced on the basis of renewable raw materials and are designed not only to leave behind no waste, but also to rejoin the regenerative cycle.

According to the company, the packaging bags are certified compostable. In addition, the cardboard is Cradle to Cradle certified and therefore 100 percent recyclable, including the colors. As far as conventional cardboard boxes are concerned, up to a third of the slag that cannot be recycled is left behind even after recycling. The types of glass used are also durable and refillable, while these can be recycled together with amber glass as well.

According to information from Swiss Health & Nutrition, no raw materials are used that are obtained from food sources for humans or animals. In this context, maize is taken as an example. The packaging concept for ‘Be the Change’ brand products is based exclusively on upcycled renewable organic residues.

“Nutrition always goes hand in hand with consumption”, comments Sven Altorfer, founder and CEO of Swiss Health & Nutrition AG, in the press release. “The choice of what to buy is only one side of the coin. The other is the offer. With ‘Be the Change’, we offer a comprehensive solution for the regenerative cycle of sustainable food”, he concludes. gba
