B. Braun Medical opens new factory in Sempach

Sempach - B. Braun Medical AG has commenced operations at a new production facility for disinfectant and hygiene products in Sempach. The company has invested a sum of roughly 75 million Swiss francs in the N.I.C.O. (New Infection Control Operations) plant.

B. Braun Medical AG has commenced operations at a new production facility for disinfectant and hygiene products at the company’s Swiss headquarters in Sempach in the canton of Lucerne. A sum of approximately 75 million Swiss francs has been invested in the N.I.C.O. (New Infection Control Operations) plant, with the aim of doubling Disinfection production capacities over the medium term, further details of which can be found in a press release.

B. Braun Medical AG is a subsidiary of B. Braun SE, which is headquartered in Melsungen, Germany. In Switzerland, B. Braun is represented by locations in Crissier in the canton of Vaud, Escholzmatt in the canton of Lucerne, the city of Lucerne and the Zürich region, in addition to the headquarters in Sempach opened 46 years ago. Moreover, Sempach is the only competence center for the Disinfection area within the entire B. Braun Group.

With N.I.C.O., B. Braun will manufacture innovative and in-demand products, while at the same time contributing to greater sustainability. “This is a matter that has always been close to our hearts at B. Braun”, as the CEO explains. Solar panels are also being installed at the company’s production facilities in Crissier, Escholzmatt and Sempach.

On April 1, 2024, Christian Gabriel became Managing Director of B. Braun Medical AG. He succeeded Roman Kübler, who after five years in the role was appointed Senior Vice President Sales Western Europe. ce/gba
